Today it’s very cold outside so I’m ready to help out our little feathered visitors by making a Cheerios Bird Feeder. It’s super simple and uses food from your pantry. Great to do with the kids. They can see the different types of birds that come in the different seasons. It’s fascinating. Added to Kids Crafts and Nature Crafts

Oh, we’ve got acorns, oh yes we do. And here’s what to do with ‘em if you’ve got kids. First, make Acorn Pumpkins! They’re adoroable. Then, with the acorn tops that weren’t needed for that, make Colorful Acorn Caps. It uses basic craft supplies and the kids will like it. Added to Kids Crafts and Nature Crafts

Time to start putting out suet for the birds here. Why not try making your own Festive Suet? It’s easy and you can add a variety of bird-safe food items to make it even more, well, festive. The birds will love it and you may see some species you’ve never seen before. I love when that happens! Added to Nature Crafts

Don’t know about you, but I’ve been picking up sticks out of my yard all week (and acorns, but that’s another craft!) and now I know what to do with them. I’ll make Rudolf the Woodland Reindeer. Hmm, I might make the whole set of reindeer – Donner, Blitzen, etc. Though I suppose they’ll need brown noses. Hey – acorns are brown…

Time to gather the fall leaves to make this
lovely leaf tablecloth. Freshly fallen leaves are best for this project.

Here’s
a fun story. Two young Girl Scouts began a website to fundraise by
selling Ponderosa pine cones. Meanwhile, the UPN network decides to
cancel a show called Everwood. The show’s newspaper is called The Pine
Cone. To save the show, viewers begin ordering a deluge of pinecones to
send to the network. The Girl Scouts have a great fundraiser.
I’m
sure the pine cones are great for nature crafts, too.
